About Me!
My first pair of boxer shorts that I stitched in Home Ec class in 2000 fell apart at the seams.
Because of this, I thought sewing wasn't for me and didn't touch a sewing machine again until 2013. To be honest, I am still not great at making clothes but I found my passion lies in making quilts and quilting the tops once they're completed.
I started free motion quilting on a little Toyota sewing machine I picked up from Spotlight and if you can quilt on that thing, you can quilt on anything. It had a tiny throat space, the pedal was either on or off (zero speed control) and didn't like stitching through 2 layers of fabric + wadding. I upgraded to my new baby, a shiny Bernina in 2022 as I had about 20+ quilt tops to be completed and had become too hard to finish anything on my Toyota.
In 2023, I quit my full time job (real estate, if you know, you know...) and took the leap and bought a long arm on a 10ft frame, her name is Birdy.
